Whispering Smith was founded by Krishna 'Lal' Kumar in 1967. What began as a singular Chorlton market stall grew into what is now a global leader in design, production and delivery.
We are a third-generation family-run business. Whispering Smith is co-owned by Lal's sons Rajan and Sanjay, and led by his grandchildren Rohina and Rohil who are Creative Director and Managing Director respectively.

274 Deansgate is our official headquarters where we work with major retailers and e-tailers around the globe. In addition to Manchester, we also have offices and showrooms in London, Madrid, South Africa, Italy and New York.
Our first 7000 sq ft warehouse was opened in 1977. By 1993, we would open another 60,000 sq ft warehouse and in later years another 500,000 sq ft warehouse on Briscoe Lane.
Our newest warehouse can house thousands of SKUs. Our streamlined business model means our stock can now be purchased and within a retailer's warehouse within 3-5 working days.
