Here at Whispering Smith, we are proud to announce that we have pledged to donate £30,000 worth of clothing to OnSide Youth Zones every year for the next three years, in support of a very worthy cause.
The OnSide Youth Zones charity was established in 2008 to help disadvantaged young people to gain access to opportunities that would not have previously been available to them. The charity provides safe spaces for young people aged between 8–19 years old (up to 25 for those with a disability) to learn, relax and make friends.
Bolton Lads and Girls Club was the first ever youth zone to be set up by the charity, with another fourteen centres being opened in deprived areas in the ten years that followed.
Earlier this month, our drivers delivered the first instalment of socks, hats, coats, scarves and childrenswear to youth zones in Bolton, Chorley and Wigan, to be distributed across ten centres in the Midlands and the North of England. Many families struggle to afford warm clothing when the cold weather hits, so we are glad to be able to help to make life a little bit easier for them.
